East Sussex County Council has implemented a daily ‘message board’ that is emailed to all schools, colleges and known training providers at 3pm each day. This communication contains all the key releases and updates relating to keeping providers open during the COVID-19 situation. The council has contacted all contacted all schools, colleges and training providers requesting that they submit a summary of the provision they are offering, and a daily return of attendance at their school/college to help them ensure that there is sufficient provision across the county and to help plan other services to meet the needs of pupils and schools. The YES East Sussex service will continue to provide information and advice to learners to support their transition from Years 11, 12 and 13, as well as support and guidance to young people aged 16-18 who are not in education, employment or training in East Sussex. YES can also support young people up to the age of 25 if they have an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) or are a looked after child.
