As part of the Ofqual announcements around vocational and technical qualification, Ofqual has said that students due to take functional skills assessments this summer will receive a calculated grade in most cases. The DfE has said that rule requiring level 2 apprentices to study towards, and attempt, functional skills assessments at level 2 is “suspended temporarily”. This will be reviewed in July. More on this can be read here. Ofqual has said that functional skills students can be moderated via ‘adapted assessment’ such as online tests, where teacher calculation is impossible.
