Education Secretary Justine Greening has announced a series of measures to place education at the heart of the government’s ambition to provide opportunity for all and ensure that the country is building the skills needed to secure the nation’s prosperity. There is a focus on building skills for a post-Brexit economy (including 27 new projects tasked with promoting and increasing degree apprenticeships – analysis here) , teacher training and supply, tacking inequality and boosting opportunity and more help for students (including raising the earning threshold for student loan repayments – including FE loans – from £21,000 to £25,000).
