The ESFA has published the new apprenticeship funding policy paper, setting out the policy for apprenticeship funding for new starts from 1 August 2020. This new guidance reflects the new measures announced in the Chancellors summer statement alongside other important updates. The guidance includes details on:
- the eligibility rules for the new apprenticeship employer incentives
- raising of the number of reservations for smaller employers on the apprenticeship service from 3 to 10
- that all new apprentices must start on apprenticeship standards from 1 August 2020
You can view a summary of the changes made since the 2019/20 rules here.
A clarification version of the 2020 to 2021 apprenticeship funding rules has been published for all main providers to give them the opportunity to provide feedback on how the ESFA can make them clearer or better understood.
