This article examines the decline in the number of black and ethnic minority (BAME) principals leading further education colleges in England. The Black Further Education Leadership Group has written an open letter to the government on many issues, including the diversity deficit in FE, and proposes that recruitment processes should address imbalances in the diversity of leadership at all levels.
