The Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR), the regulatory arm of the UK Statistics Authority watchdog, is launching a review into how Ofqual’s results algorithm was developed. The OSR have stated that the review will “consider the extent to which the organisations developing the models complied with the principles set out in the Code of Practice for Statistics.” The findings are due to be published in September. A letter from the Chair of Ofqual to the Royal Statistical Society regarding their letter to the OSR which initiated the review can be read here.
