The DfE has published guidance on the use of face coverings for education institutions from 1 September. The guidance states that ‘Schools and colleges will have the discretion to require face coverings in indoor communal areas where social distancing cannot be safely managed, if they believe that it is right in their particular circumstances.’ An article discussing the government’s change in its guidance in this area can be read here.
