The DfE has published apprenticeships and traineeship statistics which include the latest monthly apprenticeship starts to June 2020, the number of apprenticeship service commitments as reported at the end of July 2020 and new, separate tables on apprenticeship starts as first reported for the month of July. The figures for the first 11 months of the 2019/20 academic year (August 2019 to June 2020) show that apprenticeship starts reported to date are 299,700. The number of apprenticeship starts reported to date for June was 12,400, compared to 20,900 reported for June 2019. Some sector response to the statistics can be read here.
