MPs, business leaders, unions and the House of Commons Treasury Committee are urging the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak to consider an extension to the furlough scheme which is currently due to end on 31 October. The Treasury produced a report with recommendations for the Chancellor which included extending the current terms for universal credit and helping debt-troubled SMEs.
