The government has announced the opening of its Care Leaver Internship Scheme, which offers 12-month paid internships aimed at helping care leavers to develop skills and competencies that support them into long-term jobs. More than 500 internship opportunities for care leavers will be available including at the Department for Education and Department for Work and Pensions, among almost 20 departments and agencies. Applications are open until Monday 5 October.
