The House of Commons Library has published a suite of newly published research on the economy and employment:
- The UK economy: a dashboard – an interactive dashboard presenting key economic data for the UK
- People claiming unemployment benefits by constituency – paper providing figures for the number of people claiming unemployment benefits by parliamentary constituency, as well as a summary of the latest labour market statistics for the UK as a whole.
- Unemployment – National: Key Economic Indicators – data on unemployment in the UK.
- Employment – National: Key Economic Indicators – a summary of the latest data on employment in the UK.
- Constituency data: people claiming unemployment benefits – explore constituency-level data on people claiming unemployment benefits using the interactive dashboard.
- Average Earnings: Key Economic Indicators – average Earnings: Regularly updated data on average weekly earnings, including breakdowns by public and private sectors.
- Youth unemployment statistics – paper presenting the latest statistics on youth unemployment in the UK as well as comparisons with other EU countries.
- Coronavirus: Impact on the labour market – paper tracking the evolving impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the labour market.
- Regional and National Economic Indicators – data summarising the economic situation in the regions and countries of the UK.
The Treasury has published figures showing that 950,000 workers, 20% of those furloughed nationally, went back to work on a part-time basis in July.
