The investment, delivered through the government’s World Class Labs funding scheme and made through 7 of UK Research and Innovation’s (UKRI) research councils, covers investments in all disciplines from physical sciences to arts and humanities. Some of the investment will be spent on new facilities including super computers to track infectious diseases, airborne sensors to monitor greenhouse gas emissions, and a unique floating offshore wind testing lab.
