The DfE has announced that will distribute a further 300,000 laptops and tablets to help disadvantaged children and young people learn at home. It has stated that as part of the Get Help with Technology Programme, the 300,000 boost takes the total number of laptops and tablets for disadvantaged young people up to 1.3 million.

The DfE has also now announced that independent training providers (ITP) would soon be able to benefit from the Get Help with Technology Programme for students aged 16 to 19 on study programmes, including traineeships, and in receipt of free meals, and those aged 19 or over with education, health and care plans, who also receive free meals. It states that the majority of eligible FE providers will be able to order devices before the end of January, and will invite all eligible providers to order by the end of February.
