The DfE has published apprenticeships and traineeship statistics for the first quarter (August to October 2020) of the 2020 to 2021 academic year. The figures show that there have been 91,100 apprenticeship starts in the first quarter, which is down 27.6% from the same period in 2019/20. This commentary discusses the figures and that it is an improved picture on the previous quarter during the pandemic.
