Education Recovery & Qualifications Government Statement

The Education Secretary Gavin Williamson, has delivered a statement to MPs on plans to help children catch up and on how qualifications in England will be awarded this summer. The plans include the introduction of a new one-off £302 million Recovery Premium for state primary and secondary schools, building on the Pupil Premium, to further support pupils who need it most. They will be expanding the tutoring programmes, with £200 million available to fund an extended National Tutoring Programme for primary and secondary schools and tutoring and language support in colleges and early years settings.  There will also be £200m available for secondary schools to deliver face-to-face summer schools.
