The Office for National Statistics has published the Labour market overview, UK: June 2021 which contains estimates of employment, unemployment, economic inactivity and other employment-related statistics for the UK. The Institute for Employment Studies briefing on the statistics provides a useful summary. The Resolution Foundation has commented following the release on the number of employees still on furlough in the arts, leisure and hospitaliyt sectors, and also comments on the ‘covid employment gap’ of those on furlough or out of work completely.
