The DfE has announced further measures to ‘boost the nation’s skills, level up opportunities and get more people into better paid jobs’. It states that the Skills Bootcamp training programmes will be expanded, and 18 areas across the country will be delivering the Skills Accelerator programme. A list of Skills Bootcamps, which offer free, flexible courses of up to 16 weeks, has been published. A list of the Skills Accelerator Local Skills Improvement Plan trailblazers and Strategic Development Fund pilots has also been published, which includes Sussex.  Also announced is the launch of a consultation on the future of the National Skills Fund. The consultation seeks views on the current offers which are funded through the National Skills Fund and views on meeting critical skills needs. The consultation deadline is 16 September. The government’s Plan for Jobs information and its Free courses for jobs guidance have been updated with information about Skills Bootcamps and links to the National Skills Fund consultation.
