GCSE & A Level Results Published Show Slight Increase on Last Year

GCSE results were released on 12 August, with the DfE announcing that results showing that overall grades were slightly up on last year with 79.1% of entries receiving a grade 4 or above, compared to 78.8% in 2020. The Education Secretary congratulated students and highlighted the options available to young people. He also congratulated A level students who received their results on 10 August. A level results in 2021 were slightly higher at grades A and B, and relatively stable at grades C to E. The DfE has announced that record numbers of students have taken up university places.
