The DfE has updated the published apprenticeships and traineeship statistics. The July release published the statistics for the first three quarters (August to April 2021) of the 2020 to 2021 academic year. This update makes changes to the ‘Apprenticeship Service and monthly transparency data’ and ‘Additional analysis’ sections. The latest available apprenticeship service data is provided, along with additional analysis relevant to the COVID-19 outbreak. The updated monthly apprenticeship starts figures cover the 2020/21 academic year (provisional full year) based on data returned in September 2021. The article discusses the latest release, which shows a small increase in apprenticeship starts fro 2020/21 from those in 2019/20.
