Over the last few months, the LSIP project team have been undertaking Deep Dives into the Sussex LSIP key sectors, following on from the Digital Sector deep dive done earlier in the year. The remaining key sectors they’re look at are:
- Engineering and Manufacturing
- Construction
- Visitor and Cultural Industries (includes Hospitality, Cultural & Arts)
- Land-based (includes Agriculture and Viticulture)
- Health and Care (includes Bio Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical)
These short projects are looking at sector data analysis, undertaking employer and education provider interviews to further build up a picture of the skills challenges in the Sussex area and potential ideas for solutions, which we can include in the refresh of the Sussex LSIP report to be submitted to government in May 2023. In January we will be holding a series of virtual subgroup sessions to share and discuss the findings and initial recommendations from all this work.
