Eight senior leaders from the SCTP membership met at Sussex Cricket in Hove on Wednesday 31st January to share experiences, discuss the state of the sector and to agree actions for improvement. There was much discussion about issues such as the need to clarify subcontracting and 20% off the job training rules, EPA implementation, awarding bodies and delivering standards, how best to sell the new apprenticeship product, the pressures of multiple and complex procurements, outcomes measures for new standards, the impact of T levels especially on study programmes and the damage caused by the ending of subcontracting for advanced learner loans. The next meeting will take place in June with the date and venue to be confirmed and opened up for bookings nearer the time on a first come first served basis.
