South East Workshop Invitation: Tutor Shortages

South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) are holding two workshops to explore how they better tackle tutor shortages across the South East, particularly in construction and engineering. The workshops will focus on developing sustainable solutions and will be held on the following dates:

Workshop 1 – Alternative teaching/delivery models – 7^th June 2023 10:00am -12:30pm

This workshop will look at ways which might alleviate demand in skill shortage areas through increased use of technology, division of roles and staff deployment.

 Workshop 2 – Improving recruitment and retention – 14^th June 2023 10:00 – 12.30pm

The workshop will explore how to increase supply and improve on existing approaches. Looking at aspects such as the role of employers/employees and graduates, if and how a more local collaborative recruitment model could work and the role of ITT and technical CPD in aiding retention.

The workshops are primarily for the FE sector, including LSIPs, but we will also be welcoming colleagues from awarding bodies, employers, higher education, DfE and local authorities to be part of the discussion. Click here to register.
