Official Statistics: Perceptions of A levels, GCSEs and other Qualifications: Wave 21

This Ofqual pages shows the results of an annual survey of heads of schools, teachers, general public, parents, students, employers and higher education institutions in England. The main findings include:

  • General, overall confidence in GCSEs and Applied General qualifications was consistent with wave 20, while general, overall confidence in A levels decreased slightly and returned approximately to pre-pandemic values.
  • There were no statistically significant changes in general confidence of GCSEs or Applied General qualifications for any individual stakeholder group.
  • General confidence in A levels decreased compared to wave 20 for all stakeholder groups apart from parents.
