This months apprenticeships publication has been updated. Key figures from the 2023/24 academic year show:
- Apprenticeship starts were up by 7.0% to 130,830 compared to 122,290 reported for the same period in the previous year.
- Under 19s accounted for 32.7% of starts (42,740).
- Advanced apprenticeships accounted for 43.0% of starts (56,200) whilst higher apprenticeships accounted for 35.3% of starts (46,230).
- Higher apprenticeships continue to grow in 2023/24. Higher apprenticeship starts increased by 9.9% to 46,230 compared to 42,060 in the same period last year.
