The Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) withdrew funding approval, for learners aged 16 and above, from qualifications:
- in the sector subject area (SSA) ICT (except essential digital skills qualifications)
- in other SSAs not linked to the application of digital skills for:
- a specific occupational sector, or
- a specific entry level job role
ESFA withdrew funding for these qualifications:
- up to level 1 from August 2021 – this did not include functional skills qualifications (FSQs) in ICT
- at level 2 from August 2022
