The ESFA has published a statement giving information for providers of adult education and training services, including apprenticeships and traineeships on subcontracting ESFA funding. There were some in the sector who were hoping for the ESFA to introduce a cap on subcontracting fees broadly in line with AELP’s recently published subcontracting good practice guide but this will now have to wait until at least the end of the year as the ESFA needs more time to look at the issues. The ESFA has also published updated guidance on using subcontracting in the delivery of apprenticeships which gives the policy background and examples.
