New statistics from the Department for Education, which included the number of starts per provider for the first time, show that colleges’ share of the market dropped from 31 to 26%, ITPs stayed steady at 61% and ‘Other Public Funded’ (which includes universities) grew from 8 to 12 from 2016/17 to 2017/18. The figures also show that colleges have also suffered disproportionately from this year’s drop in starts which reduced subcontracting a key reason. Click here for more.
