AELP Conference Day 1 Supplement from FE Week

No significant announcements so disappointment for those who were hoping that Anne Milton would announce a scrapping of the 10% apprenticeship SME contribution. Paul Mitchell was there for SCTP (pictured on page 4 to prove it!) and reports that the best inputs of the day were from Paul Joyce of Ofsted who demonstrated that his organisation have a clear understanding of the provider perspective and the challenges of current policy and apprentice Maisey Woodland from Innovate Awarding who showed the confidence that she has gained from her apprenticeship in calling for the apprenticeship system to ensure that Level 2 is recognised and valued.
