The DfE has published apprenticeships and traineeship statistics which contains the finalised statistics covering the full 2019 to 2020 academic year on apprenticeships (aged 16 and over), including official statistics covering the apprenticeship service and the public sector apprenticeship return, and on traineeships (aged 16 to 24). The figures show that there were 322,500 apprenticeship starts for 2019/20, which is 18% down from 2018/19. An analysis of the statistics by FE Week can be read here.
