The DfE has published apprenticeships and traineeship statistics which include the latest monthly apprenticeship starts covering the provisional, full 2019 to 2020 academic year, and the latest number of apprenticeship service commitments. The figures for the full 2019/20 academic year (August 2019 to July 2020) show that apprenticeship starts reported to date are 319,000. The number of apprenticeship starts reported to date for July 2020 was 17,900; in July 2019, the number reported at the same point was 25,700.
