Brighton and Hove City Council, alongside a number of organisations across the city, have asked the government for special dispensation to use unspent funds from the Small Business Grant and Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant to support local businesses seeking support under the Discretionary Grant Fund for businesses. The allocation for BHCC for the Discretionary Grant has now been spent, but due to huge demand, they are seeking to use the £11 million unspent funds already allocated to Brighton and Hove under the other grants.
