The final report into the review of the ESFA has been published, alongside the Department for Education’s (DfE) response to the recommendations and changes to the way the DfE will operate from 1 April 2022 onwards. The accepted recommendations include that the new ESFA will focus on its core funding delivery role, with all post-16/skills policy and implementation within ESFA, and the regional/territorial teams in the FE Directorate, moving to the DfE. This article looks at some of the changes.
