CIPD Report Addressing UK Skills and Labour Shortages

The CIPD has published a report entitled ‘Addressing skills and labour shortages post-Brexit,  examining the need for both short-term interventions and longer-term investment from government and employers to tackle UK skills and labour shortages. It is calling for short-term changes to the UK’s immigration policy to allow young EU nationals to help ease the immediate labour shortages and a reform of the apprenticeship levy to be used as a broader training levy to boost employer investment in skills. This article discusses some of the findings.
