The Department for Education has announced new support for schools in certain areas, called Education Investment Areas. 55 areas have been selected, including all local authorities which contain an opportunity area. East Sussex is therefore one of the named Education Investment Areas. It has published the methodology and data used to select the local authorities that will become Education Investment Areas. The announcement also includes an extra £200 million being invested in the government’s Supporting Families programme in England, and mentions further support for skills bootcamps and supported internships. Further information is available in the Levelling Up White Paper. A summary of some of the announcements is available here.
