The education secretary Damian Hinds has toured Germany and Holland over the last week to learn more about their renowned vocational education systems to aid him in the development of T-levels and apprenticeships. German approaches to vocational education and training have long been held up as a gold standard and an aspiration for the English system for some decades so let’s hope the minister comes back with some sensible ideas.
