Greater Brighton Metropolitan College Receives Share of Maths Centres of Excellence Funding

Congratulations to Greater Brighton Metropolitan College has been successful as one of 21 colleges receiving Maths Centres of Excellence funding. The centres are designed to test and share new ways to teach students who are re-sitting their maths GCSEs and will share £40 million over the next five years. The programme will be expected to design new and improved teaching approaches, develop teaching resources, build up teachers’ skill and spread best practice through maths networks.

Helena Thomas, Assistant Principal for Curriculum said, “Greater Brighton Metropolitan College is delighted to have been chosen as one of the 21 providers as a Centre for Excellence in Maths. The opportunity, funds and working collaboratively with other Sussex providers will enable us to focus on improving basic maths knowledge and skills for those 16 years and older.” Click here for more.
