Following a meeting of the government’s Higher Education Taskforce, they have agreed that all students who achieved the required grades will be offered a place at their first choice university, or if maximum capacity has been reached to offer an alternative course or a deferred place. The government has also said it will lift the cap on medicine, dentistry, veterinary science and undergraduate teacher training places. It also confirmed that it intends to remove temporary student number controls for the 2020/21 academic year to build capacity to admit students this coming year.
