The Department for International Trade has published a policy paper on the case for free trade and the benefits of free trade for the UK. It has also published research to produce a comprehensive set of indicators to estimate the number of jobs and associated incomes supported by exporting activity in the UK. Other research published aims to show the benefits of trade to UK jobs and prosperity, estimating that nearly 6.5 million jobs in the UK are supported by exports.
