Guidance on Lateral Flow Testing Updated

The government has updated its guidance on the availability of lateral flow tests for households and bubbles of students and staff of schools, nurseries and colleges.

An update specific to ITPs is expected from the DfE by the end of the month. For students and staff attending ITPs before the DfE develops a testing system, existing testing arrangements can be used. For providers who are not currently testing their staff and students, a number of local authorities are offering asymptomatic testing to workers who cannot work from home. A list of local authorities who are rolling out community testing is available here. As outlined above, testing kits are available to households where at least one member is of school or college age, and for staff working with young people and their households.
