The Association of Colleges conference is taking place this week and news is filtering out on what the key speakers have said namely:

- Paul Joyce Podcast – an audio recording of Paul Joyce, Deputy Director of Further Education and Skills at Ofsted answering questions on the link between change across the sector, the FE System and Funding and how this can affect Ofsted grades, Ofsted’s plans for new providers and new entrants into the sector as well as subcontractors. Finally he covers English, Maths, careers advice and guidance in schools and gives more details on the recent ‘requires improvement’ changes.
- Amanda Spielman Speech – the text of the Ofsted Chief Inspector’s speech to the conference.

….and Ian Pryce, the Principal of Bedford College has gone to desperate lengths to get the attention of the Education Secretary – dressed as Dolly Parton he performed a reworked education version of ‘Jolene’ (retitled ‘Justine’). Well worth a look here.
