New Digital Functional Skills Qualification Guidance and Impact Assessment

The DfE recently launched guidance on the subject content, aims and learning objectives for new digital Functional Skills qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1. Alongside this, it has published an equality impact assessment on the subject content of the digital Functional Skills qualifications. This article highlights that the assessment states that the “design and delivery of digital FSQ assessments has the potential to negatively impact on learners with learning difficulties and disabilities or special educational needs”. The DfE states that “support is available through the adult education budget to meet the cost of putting in place a reasonable adjustment for individuals with an identified LDD to achieve their learning goal”.
