With GCSE results to be issued on the 24th of August it’s timely to remember that learners in new GCSEs in English language, English literature and maths, will receive numbers instead of letters as grades. This signals a change to GCSEs, with more grades at the top end to differentiate better between higher ability students. This postcard explains this issue in more detail. By 2020 all students taking GCSEs in England will receive only numbered grades.
