New National Disability Strategy Launched

The government has announced the launch of the National Disability Strategy which sets out the government’s vision to improve the everyday lives of disabled people. The strategy sets out 100 immediate commitments supported by £1.6billion of funding. The government says that the strategy is focused on improving inclusion in the workplace, tackling the disability employment gap and making sure children with special educational needs and disabilities are at the heart of the strategy.

Also published is the UK Disability Survey research report, which summarises responses to the UK Disability Survey, which were used to inform the National Disability Strategy.
