The Government has published an impact evaluation for traineeships which estimates the effect of taking part in a traineeship on the three intended outcomes, which are progressing into an apprenticeship, further learning or employment. Findings show that 75% of trainees get a job, take up an apprenticeship or go on to further study within a year of completing their programme. Alongside the report, the Government announced that it will introduce a new traineeship achievement rate measure for education and training providers for the academic year 2019/20. To encourage more young people aged 19-24 to start a traineeship, the Government is also providing £20 million through the Adult Education Budget for further education and training providers.
