New Temporary Measures Announced as Omicron Variant Identified in UK

The Prime Minister has outlined some new temporary and precautionary measures following the emergence of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the UK. The measures, which start on Tuesday 30 November, include face coverings being made compulsory in shops and on public transport, but all hospitality settings will be exempt. The DfE communicated to education settings on Friday 26th that face masks should be worn in communal areas by staff, visitors and students. See this article for more.
