WorldSkills UK CEO – Neil Bentley-Gockmann has outlined his three main reflections from the Edge/SDS future of apprenticeship roundtables. The series brought together representatives from the four nations, to help forge a blueprint for a successful apprenticeship system fit for the challenges we face today and those we may face tomorrow. Neil touched on the following reflections:
- The turbulent economic and political global circumstances and a need for more agility and flexibility in the apprenticeship system.
- Essential employability skills, or meta skills and the need to embed such skills as universal, transferrable skills.
- The issue of equalities was seen as central to apprenticeships and the importance of providing the right support, advice and guidance for employers and individuals in accessing apprenticeships. Click here for more
