Report into Youth Employment and Skills Post Pandemic

by | 0 comments

A new report has been commissioned by the Youth Futures Foundation looking at youth employment and the wage gap between older and younger workers. The report, written by the Institute for Employment Studies, entitled A Better Future: Transforming jobs and skills for young people post-pandemic, highlights regional disparities in access to jobs for young people, a shrinking youth labour market and an unequal recovery, which could result in young people being ill-equipped to meet the future demands of the labour market, further compounding skills shortages currently faced by employers. The report sets out some recommendations for the government to future proof young people’s jobs and skills, these can be read here.
