The Social Market Foundation, a cross-party think-tank, has published a news briefing, supported by the Further Education Trust for Leadership, presenting the results of a national survey on what the public thinks about vocational qualifications. The survey found that 48% of respondents would prefer their child to get a vocational qualification after leaving school, compared to 37% to attending university and 8% to starting work. A summary of some of the responses can be read in this article.
