SCTP attended the Skills East Sussex Engineering and Manufacturing Task Group that met on 15th March to continue activity as a sub-group of Skills East Sussex. Topics discussed included: findings from the Future Skills Impact Report – what are they/what is the impact to the sector, feedback from a recent Hastings employer roundtable event, and a proposal for an action plan to be adopted by the group. An element of the action plan will look at raising the profile of locally available skills provision available to employers and local residents and SCTP will keep members updated on opportunities to be involved. The Task group include sector business reps from across East Sussex, education and training providers, DWP and other key stakeholders. SCTP attends to represent our members.
